Testimony of Melting

This series of sculptures, crafted by burning sugar, exhibits varying colors and textures under different scales, water-sugar ratios, firing temperatures, and durations. Some harder surfaces are traced with surgical-like suture lines, while others, softer and more viscous, are left to melt and flow naturally.
These sculptures correspond with the moving image work “Melting” (2021) in specific spatial arrangements.
